Thank you for visiting my WEB site. I am Meg Willis-Redfern and I purchased my first Ridgeback, Eve, in 1987, but did not whelp my first litter until 1991. Since that time I have averaged about one litter per year, striving for quality and not quantity. My pups are raised in a home environment and are well socialized. They are sold with a health guarantee and I provide a support system throughout their lifetime. I encourage my puppy people to participate in the different sports and activities available to Ridgebacks so that they can fully enjoy being with their dog. Below is a photo of my 4 canine friends.
My Breeding Philosophy
It is our goal to breed Ridgebacks that are excellent representatives of their breed in all respects. For this they must:
1) BE HEALTHY - We screen all breeding stock for hip and elbow dysplasia, thyroid abnormalities, and for eye (CERF) and cardiac problems. For additional information on Ridgeback heath, click on HEALTH .
2) BE INTELLIGENT AND SHOW GOOD TEMPERAMENT - This is demonstrated by successfully competing in obedience or rally, earning a CGC, obtaining an American Temperament Testing Society certification, or by doing therapy work. For information on these venues click on PERFORMANCE .
3) BE FUNCTIONAL - Which is proven by competing and excelling in performance events such as lure coursing and agility. For more information on these venues click on PERFORMANCE .
4) LOOK LIKE A RIDGEBACK - Demonstrated by conforming to the Rhodesian Ridgeback standard as shown by completing an AKC and/or UKC conformation championship. For information on the Rhodesian Ridgeback standard, click on CONFORMATION.
